Do I need a stroller travel bag for my Snap N Go if I'm going to Gate Check it?

Hi -

In a couple of days, I'm taking my 4-month old on his first 4-hour plane ride to TX.  I'm thinking of gate checking his car seat and Snap N Go.  I've already purchased a car seat travel bag and now debating whether I should also buy a stroller travel bag for the Snap N Go.

Any thoughts on this?  Need your advice. Thanks in advance!

  • It isn't necessary. It will just be another thing you need to do when getting off the plane. I considered one for my travel and decided against it and it worked out fine.

  • I never used/needed one. I always gate checked car seat and stroller and never had a problem (we always fly Alaska.)

  • I wouldn't for a sng.  For my city mini, I ask for a bag when I check in and then wrap it right before I board but that's because I can't figure out how to keep the city mini latched closed and I don't want it opening up on the handlers.  It's a pain to have to unwrap it at the jetway so we can be underway.
  • I had one for my Joovy Kooper and each time we gate checked it, it ended up with the regular baggage and it ended up being more of a hassle trying to get it back.  If I had to do it again, I probably would get the bright orange bag that says GATE CHECK on it.
