Mylicon caused a reaction next to lip?

The one time I give lo some mylicon and it must have drooled out of her mouth and gave her a reaction. Did anyone else experience this? The nurse said as long as her lips didn't swell its not an allergic reaction. What the he!! did i put down my lo's throat that made her skin irritated. It is going away now so maybe I'm overeacting and I'm a ftm.

    We've used it before and never had any issues. What sort of reaction did you see?

    It looked like it had dripped out of the side of her mouth and was red where it dripped. It wasn't raised or anything and is now gone. I was freaked because what if it made her throat swell or something. It was the Target brand so the active ingredient was Simethicone, not sure if Mylicon is the brand or ingredient.

    mylicon is the brand. my ds gets red marks that go away all the time. maybe she rubbed around that area after you gave it to her.

    It definitely looked like it ran out of her mouth not like she scratched herself or anything and then I used water on it and the breastmilk just for good measure and it went away. I know people use the stuff all the time...who knows...me being paranoid!
