Me! And I had to be at work at 6am this morning. Mccain's speech was great. That was the McCain from 2000. That was the McCain that I would have seriously considered voting for.
I said that this morning that I didn't think McCain had been himself. I have seen his 2000 self a few times through all of this and that is why I was so passionate for him.
Not me! I told you guys yesterday, I was so over this election stuff. After I voted last night, I came home, turned on the Christmas music channel (for gavin, of course :-) and didn't bother to look until Gavin woke up at 3 am. While DH gave him a bottle, I checked CNN- saw a clip of Obama's speech, told DH "it's Obama." And went back to bed! That was that.
Me....I was up way too late because I wanted to watch the speeches. Ditto pp. McCain was so eloquent and gracious. I didn't vote for him but I do respect him.
I went to bed early, but woke up at 11 p.m. to the craziest gunfire you've ever heard. I don't really live in the hood, but everyone around us must've walked into their yards and started firing into the air. It sounded like WWIII in East Point. Especially with the dude with the shotgun in the yard behind us. It was a miracle the baby didn't wake up!
I jumped up and was ready to call the police when DH walked into the bedroom and told me Obama had won. I did a little happy dance and went back to bed.?
I guess it wasn't nearly as bad as that New Year's we spent in Capitol View (an Atlanta neighborhood that is right downtown) when we were dodging falling bullets from all the gunfire at midnight. That's right, I'm straight up hard-core, y'all. You better watch out! The suburbs will never be able to hold me!?:)
Lil' G was born April 25, 2008!
Big C was born September 28, 2011!
HAHA Myrall. We live near Bankhead Highway, our neighborhood is great though, but yeh, it was like a war last night. They were shooting until at least 12:00. I do have a hangover though, stayed up too late and HATE this darn time change. Hunter has been waking up at 7:00 instead of 8:00 now!
I too think that McCain's speech was very sincere and gracious. I also think Obama's speech was eloquent and heart tugging. What a history making day...one I will always remember.
Me me! I don't know why I stayed up watching it all since I wasn't a huge fan of the outcome. But it was history in the making, so I figured I would watch. It didn't help that Ava woke up 30 mins after the acceptance speech ended and I had just gone to bed. I thought McCain was gracious and his speech last night was almost better than earlier ones he had done in the campaign.
Will be interesting to see how all this "change" actually gets implemented.
Not at all. I'm just starting. I've got 4 years to get Bobby Jindal to Washington. Yes WE can.
Shoot Robyn, if Obama can go from state senate to president in 4 years who knows, maybe you could run in 2012. Apparently anything is possible.
Ah, but you forget that two of those years were spent on the campaign trail! But alas, public office is not for me. I'll just throw my heart and soul into a strong Republican who remembers what we as a party used to be and scoffs at what we've become. Mark my words, Bobby Jindal will be a force. Quote it for posterity.

You mean some of those still exist? Now THAT gives me hope.
I need to do more research on this Jindal guy....
