I had to put it somewhere...
A friend of mind from high school and her husband are both artist...that don't make money on their art. He has started a business as being a general handyman, which I think is great and I admire him for doing that for his family.
However, he has a blog called, "blue.collar.with.a.brain". And I think that title is kinda c-rappy! I realllllllly don't like the insinuation that other blue collar workers are not smart or that he is *better* than other blue collar workers.
would that annoy you?
Re: this annoyed me
Depends on who it is...I would look at that like its a play off of the preconcieved notions people have about blue collar workers. But really it would depend on the person
br
That would annoy me. I wouldn't like the pretntiousness of thinking he's better than others...other blue collar workers or others in general.
But this the exact reason I had to stop reading the popular blog of a former bumpie's husband.
Very annoying to me as well.
I have a great admiration for hard working blue collar men and woman, having worked for a general contractor for almost 10 years. My grandfather was a mason.

I was actually so annoyed by the title that I didn't check to see if the actual content was pretentious. :
and ditto.

I agree with this. The name could be in jest. You'd have to read on and see if the blog is based on humor or not. Sometimes people poke fun at themselves while using stereotypes to do it. Unless you see the whole context, it could be taken wrong.

Yes, it bugs me. Maybe because my family is all blue collar workers and smarter than most of the dipshits I've worked with/for in corporate life, but mainly because of the pretentious crap.
And lolz. Ditto, although I never got past one post because of that.
