I am having my Nuchal Translucency Ultrasound at 13 weeks. Has anyone been told the gender of their baby during this test? I have heard that sometimes the tech will tell you.
Our tech tried to guess, but emphasized it was JUST A GUESS, but, she tried to look, and said she couldn't even do that... she said 14 weeks is usually the easiest point to "guess" and be close....
It depends on the Tech. Ours wont tell you unless she is 99.99% sure and that early you cant be that accurate. So we always have to wait till the big ultrasound to find out.

I asked the tech at my NT scan if it was possible to tell the sex and she said it wasn't yet. We are having an elective u/s on June 8th... I can't wait!!!!!

Yup!!! I found out with this one last week that it was a boy, very obvious and my last 2 were also boys and the scan was done at 12 1/2 weeks both times. I know some doctors won't tell you because they don't want you complaining if they are wrong.
all of my u/s are done by the doctor, not a tech. Mine guessed girl when I had mine done. He said he can't tell for certain yet, but he's 80% sure it's a girl. He's done this for 30 years and he's rarely wrong so I'm thinking this is probably a girl I'm carrying around. we'll find out for sure in a few weeks!
The tech told me at my NT scan (12 weeks 3 days) that she was 70% sure that it was a girl based on the angle of the dangle. It was confirmed that I am indeed having a girl at my 20 week ultrasound, so it did work for me! Having said that, if I had it to do over again I would not ask for a guess at my NT scan. I didn't want to get my heart set on a girl because I knew it wasn't for sure so I didn't let myself get really excited about it, and the waiting for confirmation drove me nuts!
I had mine at 13 weeks and they said girl as a guess and at 18 weeks it was confirmed by both the same tech and doctor. They double check all sonograms.
Good luck- Heather

I wouldn't trust the results myself. Personally, I'd probably question anything before 18 weeks.

We had our NT at 12w4d and the doctor said this is a girl....no "guessing". He put this in our report from the scan. SO...we banking on "girl" but will know for certain in July.
TTC since May 2010; BFP#1 11/9/10; M/C 12/27/10; BFP#2 03/15/11; EDD 11/24/11 Very happy!
Baby Girl was born 11/21/11. Beautiful and healthy!
my NT scan was with a perinatal specialist at 12 weeks and he gave us a 98% girl guess, based on the "angle of the dangle" it was confirmed a girl at our anatomy scan.
HOWEVER, next time i will be waiting for my anatomy scan instead of getting any sort of early guess, only because there was always a doubt in the back of my mind "well its a little early he could have been wrong" type thing. He was an expert, but still. you never know. i didnt buy anything pink until the a/s.
