Weight Loss Ladies: Who's getting back on the bandwagon with me?

So as you might have noticed I haven't posted the weigh in for a while. That's because I finally gave in and wallowed in my lack of motivation and ate my way through the spring. Since going to Hawaii at the end of March I have put on 10 of the pounds I lost. Yep, that's right, count 'em. TEN!

I'll be honest, I hate the new WW program. I feel there's no room for any indulgence any more. Everything you eat has to be lean meats, fruits, and veggies. Which is good for you, of course, but I feel it's incredibly limiting for any sort of snack, treat, or eating out. I hate it. It's a darn good thing I love fruits and veggies. But it's a damn shame I like bread, cookies, and cake.

But I am getting back on the wagon. Who's coming with me?

  • I'm trying to get back some enthusiasm... I've been back and forth with the same 5 lbs since last June.  I need to re-focus and shed some lbs!  I'm with you.

  • I've gained 3 or 4 between traveling for work and vacation. So I'm back on, weighed in and tracking my points again today. I've not felt limited on the new WW plan at all, but I also still get the nursing mother points so that certainly helps.

  • Me!  I (re)joined WW online 2 weeks ago, weigh in again tomorrow.  I do agree that the new Points Plus has taken some getting used to, but I do like that fruit is 0 points so that if I'm hungry at night I can have some fruit and not feel guilty.

I'll jump on...  I have gained way more weight than I wanted to these past few months managing my schedule, dh's schedule, etc..  But I'll use sparkpeople to track.
  • I have been off the wagon even though I have been tracking. I am going way over my calories for the day. I have got to hitch a ride on this wagon. Sigh. I have the baby bug BAD but I have to get myself together first. I am not looking for a blood test for diabetes in a few weeks.
  • Invite me back on the wagon right after I return from vacation.   I just won't deprive myself next week.  Lots of seafood, and lots of wine!

  • I've been back on the wagon, but I have to say, I'm loving the new program. I was very hesitant at first. I even e-mailed my friend who is a receptionist at WW and asked her if people are really having success on the new program because my starting points this time around were like 7 points higher than they were last time when I weighed more. But it seems to be working well for me. But then again, I get way too many points for my own good. I know it's probably forbidden in WW land, but what has worked for me both this time and in the past is if I know that I'll be going out to dinner, I might eat less the day before. For example, I get 48 points a day. I might eat 30 of those and then essentially carry them over to the next day, so I'd eat 48 plus 18 from the day before. I know it's technically frowned upon, but oh well. It's worked for me. That and using all but 5 of my weekly each week. And I scatter them throughout the week. I might use 10 one day and 5 the next, etc.
  • I was just coming to post something similar.  I ran the half Pig on May 1 and didn't exercise at all after that.  I was seriously burnt out.  I only gained a pound the during that time, which I was super happy.  Saturday morning I ran a 5K and then did another 3 miles Monday on the treadmill--and I gained 2 pounds this week.  WTF?  Anyway, I am soooo ready to climb back on the wagon (the running wagon and the weight loss wagon).  Good luck everyone!

  • I'm with ya!

I've been on the wagon since early March and I'm down about 20.  I <3 the new WW though. I did the old program a couple years ago and lost 30ish pounds before I got pregnant with Henry.  But, I hated the old program, free fruit and veg make me sooooo happy!

    I weigh in on Fridays.

    Good luck to you!!

  • Me!  I need a kick in the arse to shed some poundage.  I also need to be held accountable by someone else...I'm way too lenient with myself.
  • I'm trying to get on the bandwagon.  I haven't lost much since having DD and really need to get rid of the extra weight.  I'm working hard to eat well and have been tracking in sparkspeople but need to get my butt in gear and work out as well.
  • I'm doing my best to get back on the wagon full time.  I've been gaining and losing the same 3-4 lbs for over a month now.  I've been having some blood pressure and blood sugar issues over that time.  For once, both are actually dropping too low even though my meds have been reduced or changed.  So while I've been trying to learn how to eat all over again, I haven't been tracking.  Basically, this has been my first week back tracking in quite some time and I feel like I'm walking on a tight rope.

I was so frustrated in Monday that I was on the verge of tears.  My BP was 99/52 and Couldn't get my blood sugar up to where it needed to be without eating way too many points.  Finally yesterday I felt like I had things under control and actually had some points to spare but I seriously don't know how long I can stand to eat cottage cheese 2-3 times a day.

  • Oh!!  I had a great discovery this week.  A small Yagoot is only 3 points!!!  That's going to be a big summer treat for me.
  • I am jumping in with you ladies!  I said effective June 1, I am making a change...and I really need to.  I am not doing any programs or anything like that. I attemped WW a few years ago, and was too lazy to even keep up with an online program.  So, I am making an effort to watch/limit what I eat and try to exercise....baby steps....baby steps!

  • I need to be on it desperately!  I'm hoping that with summer here I can focus more.  I bit the bullet and got shorts that were my old "fat" size from 2 summers ago.  I'm so sad about it.

  • I might hop on the wagon... I don't do WW, but I am watching calories again as of this week. I had gained a few pounds over the winter, and then when I went off BC last month all of a sudden I gained 3-4 more, and now my jeans & shorts aren't so comfy.

I've been up and down in the same 10-pound range for 4 years now (after losing 80 pounds in 2 years--I guess I just got comfortable at my new "low" weight and couldn't find any motivation). Maybe some online accountability will help!
