Shoes

With the weather getting warm I need help with shoes for my baby. I have not spent the $$ on the more expensive ones. Any suggestions on shoes and getting her to keep them on? If it helps she is not walking only holding our hands.

Any suggestions from anyone would be great.

Some people hate them, but every kid that I've ever known loves walking in their crocs. They keep their feet cool, they're comfortable, and they stay on really well.

We got these. Obviously for a boy but you get the idea. They seem good and he should get through the summer.

I found that our Stride Rite was great! They were really helpful with explaining the different kinds of shoes, etc. They weren't as expensive as I thought they would have been.

I was just looking at the closed toe sandals from See Kai Run. They are having a sale right now and we LOVE their shoes. Super comfy and easy to get on and off. I have noticed that open toed anything causes DS's toes to slip way forward and off the edge of the shoe and it just looks uncomfortable and they get caught on things. I think this might also be why crocks are so popular, but I really really hate them so I cant bring myself to put them on my LO.

At that age, we used Robeez. They were comfortable and breathable. I found reasonably priced ones at the Stride Rite outlet.

Until your LO is walking outdoors, you do not need shoes. Barefeet, sockfeet or Robeez are fine.

If you are looking ahead to the summer months (well, now!), the best sandals are Tevas or Keens. I prefer the Keen brand because they have a closed toe and this is policy at our daycare, but the Tevas run slightly cheaper.

I highly recommend getting properly fitted for shoes. It makes a huge difference versus just buying online or getting a cheap pair.

And I know Crocs are adorable, but I have seen so many trips, falls etc. in these that I would caution you to wait until your LO is at least a fairly good walker.

I assume all kids are walking b/c mine is walking and has been for months so we got him some Keen sandles and another no name brand sandle that is a bit dressier at Kohls and we also got him a pair of swim shoes too.
