High-Risk Pregnancy

Lack of symptoms worrisome?

I am 8 weeks along in a very high risk pregnancy (due to my high FSH and history of cancer). My luteal sac ruptured last week so now I'm on progesterone suppositories.

Question: I started out with some nausea, but now it has dwindled down to basically nothing. I still get a little sick to my stomach when I get hungry. My boobs are a teeny bit sore but not bad. I pee a lot but only when I also drink a lot of water. I also have some abdominal cramping but it isn't too bad.

Is the lack of symptoms something to worry about? We heard the heartbeat a week ago but won't hear it again until next Thursday. I would be reassured if I was puking all the time, but I'm not and it's scary! Thoughts? Stories? Encouragement? Halp!

Re: Lack of symptoms worrisome?

  • hi there,

I'm not sure about your high risk situation because I'm not familiar with those issues but since you are only 8 weeks along- everything still may be coming.  My morning sickness was really active from about 10 weeks-15 weeks (it was about then that I stopped taking Zofran daily).  Also, my mom and several friends told me they never had nausea throughout their pregnanies. Lucky girls! Everything else you described sounds normal. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. I didnt have to pee alot til the baby really started getting big (maybe 5 months).  My boobs hurt (like I was about to start my period) early on. And- I also had mild cramping and little pains down in my stomach area related to the pregnancy pretty early on.

Good luck! I know its horribly tough waiting for those appts to get some reassurance,  especially when you are high risk (like everyone here).

  • Same here I am high risk due to a blood clotting disorder, but I didn't feel any symptoms until about 8-10 weeks then OH man did the morning sickness come on strong. That and fatigue were my only symptoms for quite a while. Now I am 20 weeks and my face looks like a 16 year olds and I am still tired all the time.

Don't put too much worry on no symptoms, enjoy it. They will come. ( one of my nurses never had symptoms throughout her pregnancy - boobs stayed the same, no nausea, nothing)
