We will probably go back to charting and using spermicide. It worked for a long time for us after i had to get off the pill for health reasons (13 months).
I <B Mirena (IUD)... I'm super sensitive to BCP but it didn't bother me in the slightest. I didn't have a period for 3 years, got it taken out, then didn't even have a period before getting pregnant again. Total WIN for birth control, in my opinion
in my opinion, if you want a fool proof method that's non-homonal and doesn't require you to remember to insert, put on or chart, try an IUD. I had one for 14 years with no problems. When we decided we wanted to have a child, we had it removed in early January. I conceived on February 14! This isn't your mom's IUD and is really worth researching. Hope this helps!
I'm not sure. On the one hand I kind of feel like I'm over BC, and would like to go with condoms until we decide to try for the next LO. But then again I feel like they're a PITA! I might just get another IUD- I had the copper one for five years, before we decided to start TTC, and was quite happy with it.
We use condoms... I have only been on BCP for 3 months in my life and reacted horribly. I won't put fake hormones in my body. We are not sure yet if we will go for baby #3 or not.. If we decide we are 2 and through (after 2 years of serious thought) DH will get a vasectomy.

Probably nothing, I'll just chart and keep track of my cycle. We know we will want at least one more after this one so after that DH will probably get snipped.

I'm going to take the wait and see approach. On my own I get AF approximately twice a year. It took us three years to get pregnant, that's not to say I can't O on my own spontaneously though and I don't know if/when we'll be able to afford a second one, so we don't want to do anything permanent. I'm looking into Mirena, but it's ~$800 that my insurance doesn't cover, then the appointment to have it inserted is another ~$100. That's fine if we go the long road with it, it's definitely cheaper than other methods then, but if we decide in a year or two, or circumstances change and we want to try sooner, than money wise, it may not make sense. Lots to consider.
After DD we didn't prevent because we are IF patients.
Having NO desire to have more kids or ever be pregnant again I thought about a tubal while they are in there if I need another section. I scratched that idea... something about ending our fertility the day my babies are born didn't sit well.
DH is going to get a V, but untill then, nothing hormonal at all. I guess charting/condoms/spermicide.

I was on the pill for sooo long, I have to admit that I kind of enjoy being off of them! I'm thinking we might just do condoms. We definately want more kids and it took us a year to get pregnant this time, so it's probably smart of us to not go back on the pill.
I will probably see about an IUD. We haven't decided if this will be our last or not so I'll do the IUD until we're certain and then I think DH will get snipped.

VCF spermicidal film. It worked for 4 years for me and my hubby before we decided to have a baby. I also track my monthly cycles online and know to be careful around fertile times of month.
When we tried to get pregnant we got pregnant on the 2nd try, so I know that it was working for us those 4 years!
Thanks ladies!! I hated being on the pill and was on it for like 8 years and it took a while to get out my system..im guessing that's why it took a while to get pregnant! Im going to look into the IUD!! Thansk a ton!
DH and I didn't use any protection before TTC except the pull-out method. It worked for 4 years and I got pregnant on the first cycle that DH stopped pulling out. So more than likely we'll go back to that method. We definitely want 1 maybe 2 more kids so it will be awhile before he gets snipped. I also don't like BCP's because they make me gain weight.
This is our first and we'd like to have 2-3 more pretty close together so I won't use anything. I really don't want to go back on BC until I'm done having kids or even at all. I never had bad reactions to them but I feel good being off them also. I think I'd want to use natural family planning or get an IUD when we are done until we are really sure we're done then have DH get the snip.
We were 2 under 2, now 3 under 3!

Condoms and maybe the mini-pill. Condoms worked for us for 8 years prior to when we pulled them to TTC. I am always reluctant to use the pill etc. only because I never had good reactions to them (either allergic reactions or serious mood swings on them). So we've always been a chart to avoid & condom combination.

I'm not sure. We'll probably go with condoms, although neither of us is thrilled with that option. However, we're a little birth control shy, since I got pregnant this time around on the Nuva Ring!
We use NFP (Natural Family Planning) which involves charting different things each cycle. We used it when we were trying to avoid pregnancy, when we conceived this time, and we will go back to it again in the future for avoiding and achieving pregnancy. I know it's not the popular choice for most, but it's the right choice for us. We've been very happy with it.
I have PCOS and had problems normalizing after bc so we decided since we want to start trying again about a year after this one that we are just going to use the calendar and avoid fertile days. It we get pregnant again before we mean to it's not a big deal for us though so that might not be the best solution for everyone. If you are looking for something a little more long term I had an excellent experience with Implanon. It goes under the skin of your upper arm and lasts 3 years. I LOVE it. It's a little uncomfortable to have put in and you will have a big bruise for a few days but its TOTALLY worth it.
