WWTBD?

Help me ladies!

We're planning my shower (finally, yay) and I'm trying to do my guest list. My husband has couple female high school friends that I'm trying to decide if I want to add them or not... I've never met them personally but when the babies were born they sent us really nice gifts (I'm talking like one girl bought us our SWING, you know that isn't cheap).

I'm afraid to invite them because, well, I don't KNOW them and it would be kinda awkward since my husband (who they do know) won't be there, but I don't want to NOT invite them because that seems rude after how thoughtful and generous they were.

 What do I do?!?

    I wouldn't invite them since a shower is basically a gift giving event and they've already been so generous.  Instead I'd send them a very nice thank you card and tell them you'll be in touch when the babies are home to arrange for them to meet the babies.  People really get a thrill out of that with Kevin and so far everyone has been great about following our rules (don't visit if you've been sick or exposed to someone sick recently, wash your hands, etc.).

    Hmm...I probably wouldn't invite them since you don't even know them. Plus, they've already given a gift, and I'd say a shower invite would be asking for another one (although I know that is not your intention!)

    Maybe have them over for dinner or something once the babies get home as a thank you and a chance for you to get to know them too?

    Oh no no no! That wasn't my intention at all! I didn't even think about that! I just felt bad leaving them out after they had been so nice to us. I love the dinner idea though!

    We were supposed to have a sip and see for the girls in my home town. I was not keen on the idea because they girls were almost 6 months old and I felt silly for having a shower type party that late in the game (althought they were right under 3 months adjusted). We invited people had gotten us gifts while in the NICU but my mom called them specifically to say, we just want you to come meet the girls. My friend made it more into a shower and invited everyone and their brother and at first I was just mortified when I found out but the actual party itself was so much fun. I was so glad I could finally share my girls. They all really wanted to be there  for these babies they had heard so much about and prayed so hard for. So I would invite them.
