Is there such a thing as cheap maternity clothes?

If you know me, I like to find a good deal...so buying stuff a full price just isn't in my vocabulary!

What I wanna know is why in the world are maternity clothes so damn expensive? I went to two Targets today and didn't find ANYTHING. There were literally like a hand full of racks with nothing cute. What's I'm really looking for are some cute maternity sun dresses (like some of these, https://www.kikisfashions.com/c-9-maternity-dresses-skirts.aspx) but that I can try on and that aren't $35+.

Where do you turn to for maternity clothing? If anyone has any M-L maternity clothes let me know ;)

  • I second Old Navy. I got a lot of my maternity clothes there. They always had some great deals and I stalked their clearance section for cheap stuff too.

  • Once Upon a Child carries maternity.  I got a few tops there a few weeks ago.

  • Short answer - yes. For the most part, I bought my entire maternity wardrobe on clearance. You just have to be at the right place at the right time. I did most of my shopping at Gap Outlet (Hebron) and the clearance racks at Gap, Old Navy, and Motherhood Maternity. Once I knew my sizes at those stores, I also did quite a bit of online shopping for sale/clearance items, since there is typically a larger selection available online.

    Happy shopping!

  • I have a bunch in that size but I was pregnant in the winter :( It sucks for me as well because about 1/3 of my stuff still has tags attached since I went 8 weeks early-thought I had a couple more months left to wear them!

I bought the majority of my stuff from old navy(online as I hardly found stuff in stores), thrift stores (hit or miss) & a LOT off of eBay.

I would figure out what size I would need in certain brands - example Old Navy M - type that into the search, sort by price + shipping lowest first - watch items that were in my price range & have them email me daily with that search. I got a LOT of good deals that way.

I also bought a small lot off of Craigs List.

    Good Luck!!

  • You should check ebay. You can select new items and get them dirt cheap.

  • I have quite a few Old Navy cotton summer dresses that are not maternity, but they are working as maternity. They are empire wasted and since they are a cottong/jersey type material they are really stretchy and comfy. I actually have one on today and it's very comfortable.

Ditto this!  I have one on today as well and the "regular" non maternity dresses still fit pretty well.

  • I got a few pieces at Snooty Fox (Mariemont location.)  I'm not sure if they all carry maternity and the selection at Mariemont wasn't huge but I was at least able to pick up a few pairs of pants and tops.

  • I am selling all mine this weekend at my yardsale. You are welcome to look through it and buy it early if you'd like!

  • I got most of mine at Gap Outlet in Hebron.  Since I don't go down there much I stocked up as much as I could and bought stuff I could grow into...also got lots of dirt cheap baby clothes while I was there ;)  At the outlet, don't limit yourself to "maternity." Some of my fave maternity finds were xxl or 2x stuff I found at the outlet.
  • I would find good deals at Kohls, I would shop the clearance rack (Walton KY Kohls is good for clearance) and use my varying coupons to get maternity clothes dirt cheap. Consignment shops are great places to find nice maternity clothes. I got everything very cheap, mostly second hand, when I was pregnant.

  • Thanks for the pointers ladies! I see a trip to the Gap Outlet in Hebron this weekend!!!! I went to the Kohl's and Motherhood Maternity in Eastgate Mall and was unimpressed with the selection.
