I finally got my first "Are you still breastfeeing?!?" I was so proud of my family and friends for being supportive, but figured that eventually someone was bound to go there after reading some of the stories from women here. Oh well....at least this friend dropped it quickly after I said that DD was still nursing and we would continue until she indicated that she was done.

One of the owners of our practice said something similar to me the other day. I still pump when I'm at work, and he said, "What is your daughter, 8 or 9 months old, you haven't stopped yet?" (Actually, she's almost 10 months old, and I don't plan on cutting her off until she's ready.)

I had a conversation with my cousin about breastfeeding a while back and he said "oh, you aren't going to be one of *those* parents who is breastfeeding until kindergarten, are you?!" He was half joking, but I said "well, I hope not, but we'll see, won't we?!"
He jokes a lot, but I think he was surprised by my response. My LO was 6 mos at the time.
