Does anyone have a heavy spitter? The pedi said we should see a big improvement now that we have started solids, but DS is still soaking through multiple shirts a day (in addition to a bib change every 30-60 minutes). I know the drool is not helping matters!
I just wondered if any of you have happy, but heavy, spitters and when you saw improvement?
Thanks!
Re: Heavy spit up babies?
I feel the pedi lied to us royally about the spit up. When he was first diagnosed with reflux around 5 weeks, it was supposed to get better around 3-4 months. That didn't happen. THEN solids were supposed to help. Didn't see a difference.
He is 9 months old and probably within the past couple of weeks the spit up has lessened but he is still a spitter. I've read some babies do it until they are well past a year old.
That was a long response. Sorry.
No advice but right there with you. We tried weaning off reflux meds at 4 months and it was a big fail. She spits up all the time still at 6.5 months and has been on Zantac her whole life. It doesn't bother her, but at this age I didn't think I'd still be dealing with it. Oh well.
Ahh I wanted all of you to tell me it gets miraculously better! LOL
Mine said he could go well past a year, but thought that we'd see a dramatic improvement by 9 months. It's so frustrating. I envy these moms who can dress their babies in all these cute outfits with no bibs
I think we own more bibs than articles of clothing for him to wear. Actually, I am pretty positive we do.
I wish. We're at about 8 months, and the spitting-up is as bad now as it was at 3 months. Sorry! Maybe it'll be different in your case.
I'm still dealing with it! I do think solids have helped a little bit, but now his spit up is in technicolor and it smells worse.
On sunday, DS spit up all over MIL's very expensive grey imported italian leather sofa. There is now a huge orange spot on the cushion.
