Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Question of the Week (QOTW):
Im really running out of ideas for QOTW!!! HELP!
QOTD brought to you by yankeebear
What is your biggest fear about delivery / having newborn , etc??
**If you have ideas for future QOTW, let me know (either post question ideas with your update, PM me, or email me at blueeyedwitch09 at aol dot com)!**
Re: Welcome to Pregnant after 35 Weekly Check-In!
Screen Name: Shae52
First Name: Sharon
Due Date: 12/22
Sex of Baby: Too Soon to know!
Update: Feeling pretty good, excited to be nearing the end of first tri, have my first test on 6/13, a bit nervous as this will determine if we do any additional testing. This is my first baby, I am 39 and never thought I would be this old the first time around. Pretty excited though, I have enjoyed lurking since January here and on the TTC after 35 boards, finally feeling comfortable enough to post.
Somehow the m/s is slowly disappearing. All other things are still a little wonkey. Irritability is seriously never ending.
But the thing or things I fear is that I will not be able to handle the pain of a natural birth or that I will not be able to have a natural birth for whatever reason. MIL states that she doesn't think I can handle that kind of pain.
Today I'm feeling pretty good...except for the continuous swelling. I go to the doctor tomorrow and I plan to BEG for some help! Don't know if there is anything they can do, but I'm sure going to ask.
Today is my last day of work until the end of October. I'm thankful for that!! I'm seriously behind on shopping for this LO, so now I will have time.
My biggest fear...I've had three LARGE babies (8 pounds, 10 pounds, & 9 pounds, 14 ounces). All have been vaginal births. All were medicated (thank God!) & all three were born "sunny side up". All of them were difficult to push out. I fear that my fourth will be large, as well. I dread the whole delivery process. So far, I've been lucky. I was able to do it and they all came out perfectly healthy, but my last delivery was pretty scary. I just want my little girl to be a normal size, face down, & easy to push out. Hey...a girl can hope, right??
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
feeling nervous, had a cvs yesterday and i'm worried about the results. on a good note, pg libido has kicked in (hurray)
Question of the Week (QOTW): What is your biggest fear about delivery / having newborn , etc??
my biggest fear is having another c/s.
feeling good but huge & swollen. have gtt scheduled for tomorrow...fingers crossed!
worries for delivery have to do with the logistics of having 2 other little ones to worry about this time! my biggest fear with a newborn is SIDS. other than that, i think having only 1 baby this time won't be all that bad. famous last words, right?!
Name: Amanda
Due Date: 2/2/2012
Sex: Too early, but we'll be team green anyway!
We go in at the end of next week for a viability scan. Here's to hoping we see a heartbeat!!!
Hi. I have some updates:
Kangaroo35 (Kristin)
new EDD: 12/4/11 (it was moved up based on size of baby)
sex: Girl
Thanks!
Hi! This week I'm pleased because I can start nesting. Shopping feels great. I'm still physically fine, no swelling or pain anywhere, but I've skipped yoga two days in a row and I hope my body doesn't smack me for it. I'm making two lasagnas today, one for us and one for some friends who are 39+ weeks and ready to pop.
I'm not all that scared of med-free labor or delivery, I've recently been through it and found it very painful but do-able... and that was with huge fibroids. This time around the fibroids are gone. I'm nervous about being induced or needing a c-section, though. I really don't want a section, we're not sure if we're done and the recovery time is longer.
With a newborn, I am worried about how Margaux will handle it.
Updates: As I stated in my post below .. LO will arrive earlier than expected. My OB is suspecting pre-eclampsia. I have to do another 24hr collection tomorrow & pending the results I have 3 options:
a. Induction at week 39 (July 10th), no pre-e & if pressure stays stableb. Induction at week 38 (July 3rd), if pre-e is diagnosed & pressure meds work
c. C-section on or after June 19th (36wks), if pre-e & high pressure readings Either way I won't be going to my due date July 17th Question of the Week (QOTW): What is your biggest fear about delivery/having newborn, etc? Right now, my biggest worry is making sure LO is strong to survive outside the womb. I know lots of babies are born & thrive pre-term, but I just want to make sure I'm doing all I can to make that happen.
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Feeling ok - starting to really feel "big" and waddling...but only 5 weeks to go so I think I can manage! I'm fortunate because I'm still moving well and sleeping soundly so I'm focusing on that.
What is your biggest fear about delivery / having newborn , etc??
My biggest fear is how my DH is going to handle labor and delivery - he's pretty nervous about it and has felt helpless watching me with M/S (he tries to help but outside of just bringing me some water after I'm done, there's nothing he can do). So I'm a little nervous just how well he's going to handle the overwhelming-ness of labor and delivery. I have faith he'll be just fine but mostly I want to not have to worry about him (or maybe that will distract me!?). newborn stuff I just want to be able to breastfeed successfully...otherwise I don't sweat any of the newborn stuff.
Update: Except for a random swelling on my right foot two days ago, everything else is fine. I feel even more energetic, getting things done around the house (we moved into a new place over the weekend), getting job work done. We missed the child birth classes, but we got into a free program for people that are expecting/having their first baby and I think it is cool. You meet once a week (or as often as you want) with a specialized person and you can ask/talk to her about any concerns... While pregnant, she is kind of giving us private child birth classes. After the baby is born, they monitor your baby's development, help you with what you need.....
QOTW: Biggest fear about the delivery is if I can stay sane during the whole process and if I can manage to deliver a healthy baby.
Updates: I passed my GTT! Bad news - I'm now anemic and have to start iron supplements. I'm also ridiculously swollen.
QOTW: Probably dealing with DH through labor and delivery. I really want to try for a natural, med-free birth. DH is not too optimistic about my chances and doesn't seem to know how to deal with me when I get emotional.
A little worried about what to do with the baby once we go home too.
heatherebee- real name Heather
Due date 09/03/2011
It's a girl!
This week the only news is a lot more activity. She's kicked the remote off my belly and my son got to see and was wide eyed LOL My husband finally timed his 2 second belly touch right and felt her move. He also is seeing her move. He is very impatient and gets disappointed so he won't sit and wait for her to move under his hand.
My new fear is that I will HAVE to get an epidural or some kind of intervention. I have allergies to corn ingredients and have experienced anaphylaxis with dextrose IV in the past so I want as little done as possible.
I am also frustrated with being so indecisive about when to stop working.
Janimal (Jan) Due 11/5/11 - BOY!
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
We were very excited at our U/S yesterday to see that our baby looks healthy and that it's a boy. Woohoo! What is your biggest fear about delivery / having newborn , etc??
I'm concerned about being away from DD while I'm in the hospital. I miss her just thinking about it!
DMoney will be a kickass big sister
Hello! I'm Denise (clipingirl) and will have c/s mid-October.
Biggest Fear/Nervous: Lack of sleep. It was really hard for me with our 2 daughters. And it makes me nervous when the new ones get sick the first few times (like colds)--I feel so helpless!!!
Feeling good and no real updates...except we find out the SEX of the BABY TOMORROW On June 2!! I can't wait to go to sleep in order to wake up and have my morning appointment! Blahhhhhh I could bust! ;-)
Ideas for QOTW:
"What are you most appreciative of during this pregnancy?" and "Describe a time when being pregnant surprised/shocked/inspired you?"
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
I had my first appointment with my midwife today and I'm so excited/relieved to say that I love her. I feel really confident about delivering with her.
After analyzing my ultrasounds and my charts, she shifted my EDD from New Year's Eve to January 3rd. Too bad about that tax break!
Question of the Week (QOTW): What is your biggest fear about delivery / having newborn , etc??
About 12 years ago my appendix ruptured. I was in the hospital for a week afterwards and my insides are a bit of a mess. I'm really afraid of having a CS - it would be complicated b/c of the appendix scarring. So I want to do everything I can to deliver vaginally. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Updates:
Feeling great, no issues and still running daily. Did you know it's national running day today? Baby girl is very active and I just love the kicks.
QOTW:
Not nervous about delivery except for the fact I might have this baby at home accidentally, Sarah already came so fast and the second is supposed to even be faster.
For the newborn, I am nervous about how Sarah will take it and how we will adjust to being a family of four.
What is your biggest fear about delivery / having newborn , etc?
My biggest fear...hmm. Dropping the wrong ball. Not being able to juggle the relationships between the (wonderful) husband, the teenager, the newborn, the Army and the rest of the world. That and having to wait another month to make tzatziki lol!!
I'm feeling wonderful after our great A/S. Our healthy girl has all her parts in the right places and was moving around like crazy.
My biggest fear about delivery is having another C/S. My goal is to have a VBAC with no meds but a lot of things are out of my control. My biggest fear about having another baby is trying to juggle my stressful full-time job with my family. I hope I never disappoint DD by not spending enough time with her.
Is there an over 40 check in?
I am due jan 2012 goldilocksnbears
Feeling pretty good. Just starting to get a little uncomfortable and having a hard time getting a good night of sleep.
I think my biggest fear is that something might be wrong with DD and that DH and I won't have any clue of what to do with her once we get home. Poor DH has never been around a baby in his life.
pghjen (Jen)first name (optional)
EDD: 11/26/11
Team Green
I don't really have any pregnancy symptoms right now. I have been feeling great, and much less tired in the 2nd Trimester. I'm mostly worried about taking care of a newborn with no family nearby to help. I know deep down that everything will be fine, but it is a little overwhelming sometimes.
Hi - can I be added??
SN: Chargermama
Real name: Heather
DD: Sept. 20
Team: Pink
Updates: lots of movement in bellyland. I have also started swelling if it gets too hot and I do too much sitting or walking.
QOTW: I am dreading the lack of sleep. Since our youngest is almost 4 I get to sleep most nights so it will be a shock to the system going back to sleeplessness.
