IVF #2=Big Fat Failure

I thought I posted an update on this board over the weekend, but it must have disappeared.

Anyway, I had a nightmare of a weekend. Friday was ER day. The RE on rotation, not my RE, ended up puncturing my ovary during the ER. I lost a LOT of blood and woke up in pain. However, she didn't bother to tell me about the blood loss or the puncture. She just kept saying how we got 7 awesome eggs, which I was excited about. I started having shoulder pain and feeling lightheaded. This went on for about three hours until I started not being able to breathe and passed out. I woke up and was convulsing in pain. It was insane. They brought a u/s machine in and saw lots of blood in my abdomen. So, they called an ambulance, and I was transported to the hospital. I was there until Monday morning. I ended up getting a blood transfusion, and they thought I would need surgery but my body started absorbing the blood. I refused all pain meds in the hope we would still have a transfer.

The RE on call didn't show up until late Saturday at the hospital to tell us that none of the eggs fertilized due to our MFI issues. It would have all been worth it if I had something to transfer or something to freeze. But, we had nothing. There are no options left for us but using donor sperm, which DH does not want to do. I do though. Not sure how we are going to resolve this one. I shouldn't be at work, but I decided to come in just to get back to normal a little. At home, I was just sitting around and crying.

OMG!!! I'm so .sorry that you had such an experience!! I'm glad that the hospital was able to get everything under control!! Hopefully you and DH can come to an agreement on what to do next--I know its so hard!! Huge hugs!!

Oh NO! That is the worst IF thing I have ever read. I am so, so sorry. I hope you and DH can come to an agreement that you're both okay with. Huge (((hugs))) Again, I'm so sorry for the just... awfulness of the weekend.

That's so horrible! I'm so sorry you had to experience that. And the issues between you and DH - that's so tough. We've been through that too, and it can be really, really hard. Sending love and (((HUGS))) your way.

OMG....I am just reading this now and I am so terribly sorry. I cannot even believe that this happened. You poor thing. I am crying reading this and my heart is breaking for you.

Just tossing my 2 cents in, but PLEASE go for another opinion. If they punctured your ovary, who knows what is going on in that lab? Don't give up yet sweetie.

I am so, so, so sorry that this happened to you! That is just awful. You must be so tough to refuse all of the pain medicine even though I am sure you were in pain. I wish there had been something that came of it so that you could feel it was at least worth it. I know how difficult it can be when you don't agree with DH on what methods you want to use to get pregnant. We have had some disagreements about these things too. Again, I am so sorry! Big ((Hugs))
