I got an e-mail (along with 30 other people) today from my cousin regarding her daughter's b-day party next weekend. Here's part of it. Is it just me, or is this tacky as hell?
Lucy currently wears size 18 month clothes, size 4 shoes, size 3 diapers (luvs are our favorite). She loves toys that move & play music or make sounds. She likes baby Einstein DVD's, gerber puffs snacks. We can always use Dreft laundry detergent & stain remover, and Baby oxiclean in powder or spray. Ok that's all the ideas I can think of! Love you all & hope to see you next Sunday!
Re: Tacky, tacky, tacky
Wow.
If my mom insisted on a list of ideas, I would send that to her - maybe. But 30 people? Hellz no. She's asking for specific gifts!
Wow. I would never ask someone to buy me laundry supplies or food for my child. That just seems wierd.
Clomid- No response
Metformin 1500 mg Femara 5mg + Trigger + TI Round 2 = BFP!
Beta 13DPO: 115, Beta 16dpo: 561 BFP Chart
Kind of.
If her mom is anything like my MIL (and relatives on that side) people have been hounding her for gift ideas. So she just decided to get a list out there to everyone and make things easier for them.
Would I do it? No.
I have def. given ideas to people who have asked, but never to everyone. And yeah, the laundry stuff & food was mainly what I was talking about. WTF?
Yep, I'm, like, totes sure that's what little Lucy wants to unwrap on her birthday.
It's not just you.
Yup, Tacky the Penguin strikes again.
You know, I can almost see how someone could think they were being proactive in preventing 30 emails asking "What does she want/like/wear?" but unfortunately when it comes to gifts, you just have to wait to be asked.
She needs to create an amazon wishlist for her kid and then she can send everyone there for gift ideas in the future.
Yep. And I will. If the other guests are like me, they'll steer clear of this list & buy her some fun toys.
Buy the loudest most grating toy you can.
Oh, and tie a stain pen to the package.
