Out of curiousity, Showers 4+ years apart?

How do you feel about a shower if the family thought they weren't having another and gave everything they had to friends or family in need or donated it? Their kid will be 4.5 this year when the baby is due. Some friends of ours wanted to throw them another shower but we havent disussed it with her, nor has she asked us about it.

Generally I don't like second showers, but there are always some exceptions. I don't see a problem as long as she doesn't mind having a second shower.

I would be fine with it. We threw one for my cousin when her kids were 4 years apart. Actually.... We threw her a shower for her 19 year old........ her 11 year old....... her 7 year old........ and her 1 year old. They thought they were done after every kid. Now that, is excessive!

I don't know if you have posted here much, but it's a pretty slow board... most of us have our hands full Stick out tongue it might take a day or two to get more than a couple opinions. I work full time so the only time I'm really on here is at work... shhhh!

It's fine. I honestly don't see why people make such a big deal out of 2nd showers.

. This. I used to think they were tacky, but if I like the person I'd be getting them a gift, whether it was their 1st or 6th. I might as well get some cake out of the deal ;-) Anyway, if someone doesn't like the idea of multiple showers, they don't have to go.

I don't like the idea of 2nd showers unless there's special circumstances. Having an "oops" isnt one of them.

I'm sorry, I should clarify. They had changed their minds and tried for another, it wasn't an "oops"!
