**brightening**

I'm trying to learn to french braid DD's hair and LOVE the french braid look your DD has in your sig pic.  How do you do the crown like that?  TIA!

I'll try my best to explain ... I hope it makes sense! This site has a lot of braiding videos: https://www.princesshairstyles.com/

First, I have to do a braid like this with "dirty" hair - it doesn't hold on freshly washed hair. And I always spray her hair down with water so it's pretty damp.

This type of braid is an "inside out" French braid. Here's a link on how to do it: https://www.princesshairstyles.com/2008/12/inside-outdutch-french-braid-video.html

So I just do this braid, starting on one side of her head (hair is parted and I always start on the side with the least hair) and moving around to the other side of her hair until I run out of hair. I braid I all the way to the end and then just bobbypin it across the top of her head, or else pin it into a little circle (kind of making a rosette). Or, when I run out of hair, I just make it into a side ponytail.

I taught myself to braid when I was little so I'm pretty fast at it, but my DD definitely doesn't stay still. Even when the braid isn't perfect, I love to do it and it keeps DD's hair out of her face and off her neck. When this picture was taken, she had already been to the park - it really stays all.day.long.

    GL and HTH!

Thanks!  I had never french-braided hair in my life and despite DD's howls, managed to do a decent job.  Hopefully we'll get into more of a groove, especially after I get her hair trimmed so fewer tangles.
