DS has an ana reaction to dairy at 6 mos. He had a blood test within a few weeks. I don't remember the exact number for dairy--he was definitely allergic, but the number was not super-high. He was higher for peanuts and dogs.
After the ana reaction, he passed the food challenge about a year later. I was shocked he outgrew it and it happened so quickly.
When my LO was 9 months old, she licked some guacamole off my finger. Her lips and eyes swelled out of control and she turned red everywhere. We rushed her to the ER. She was crying hard, so we didn't give her the epi-pen, since I knew she was breathing ok. When we got there, she had an extremely high heart rate and they gave her a steriod shot.
At the time, I thought it was an ana reaction, but I don't think it was because of her breathing. Turns out she is allergic to garlic and her blood test was 11.2, Her peanut is even higher (17), so it scares the crap out of me if she is exposed to that.

We did blood allergy testing at 4 months, so we've been able to avoid most of his triggers(dairy, eggs, peanuts). He didn't have an ana reaction till a couple of weeks ago at almost 22 months when he got peanut butter at daycare.
His skin prick score for dairy was 4+ for both dairy/egg and IgE was 23 for dairy. He is more allergic to peanuts than both dairy and egg, but I can't recall what the exact number was. The allergist wouldn't do a skin test for the peanut because that alone can cause ana he said.

and remember that the IgE is a screening tool. The number does not correlate to the severity of an allergy.
This is what I was going to say. My DS is 4.5, we've been dealing with FAs since he was 6 weeks old, so I've been on this ride for a while. Anyways, he got his first blood tests at 3 months, and has had several since then. We test him once a year, since he has so many FAs. His numbers bounce around, and one thing they have always made clear is that the number and class truly do not indicate the level of reaction. you can be a class 2 to wheat, and class 4 to peanut, and have an ana reaction to wheat and just a few hives to peanut. Also, your reaction can be different each time, one time it can be ana, the next time can be a slight reaction. You just never know.
DD1 is allergic to peanuts and had an ana reaction last summer, after a few non-ana reactions. Her IgE to peanuts was 47 when she was tested about 2 years ago. We just had her bloodwork redone and have an allergist appt next week to find out where her levels are now.
my son TOUCHED a piece of egg at 7 months and went into a ana reaction with in a minute. I think his levels were about 4.3 or something in the 4's. They went up since our recent test. My son also had a medium reaction to sesame and his level was 1 point something. So i don't take the numbers for granted. I know his levels to milk/soy are low now but i'm not taking any chances.
I've had a few ana reactions, assuming they're all to wheat. I was tested after the first one and that was the only number that came back higher than a 3. I can't remember the exact number, though. Every reaction since has been after eating at a restaurant, so it could definitely be CC.
