Our wedding video is over 5 hours long. For our anniversary this year, I wanted to have someone edit it down more to 1-2 hours so that I might actually watch it once in a while.
We are not going to use the person who originally shot the video, so not sure if other videographers will be willing to do this or not. Not sure what the "rules" are... Any ideas? Any suggestions on who to call?

Bob Mills is fantastic. He was going to do this very same thing for me a few years back, but I never got all the footage together to give to him:(
At the time, he told me that it may take a while because current clients would be priority. So if you needed it sooner than later, he might not be able to do it.
He's worth a try, though. He really is amazing!

I don't understand this logic. If I own the rights to the images, can't I do whatever I want with them (including hiring someone else to edit them)?
Videography work may be a different from photography. People can take in home videos and have a professional video made, or even get a video collage made. You have footage that you have the rights to so I would think you should be able to find someone to do that. As for the people mentioned - Bob, Steve and Matt - it's the middle of wedding season and they all shoot weddings. Another person who you might want to try is Jason Merkt (https://www.iconographystudios.com/). He also shoots weddings, but may have more time than the other guys.
As for photography, it drives me nuts when people even crop my pictures. It changes the picture and doesn't fully represent the photographer's style/work. In terms of editing another photographers work, it's difficult. I have an end result in mind when I'm shooting. It's hard to really take another photographer's shot and make it look like yours when the composition and lighting could be funky.
Yes, but I hate my [wedding] photographer's style/work, so my entire goal is to change it. HA! I do understand that 99% of good photography is captured in camera; and, therefore, only so much can be done to improve the image (in post editing). However, a girl can dream, no? It's part of the reason we still don't have a single wedding photo framed and hung.
Oh - I understand this better than anyone! I trusted someone I knew to take good pictures at my wedding. They are AWFUL. I can't do anything to make them better. I was really upset about it for about a month and then I got over it. Now, I could care less. (I'm the lease sentimental person you know)
Why don't you get all dressed up and get married again?!?
I always tell Tine I'm going to make Emery marry me again so she can take my wedding pictures! ha!
HAHA! Now THERE's an idea!
This is what I am worried about!

Baby Sister is coming soon!
My anniversary was last week, so I'm not really in a hurry to get this done - I am sure no popular videographer would be too interested in doing this during the busy season.
BTW - who shot your video? You can PM me

Matt @ Lifetime shot our wedding video. I love it more than words, and I'm so glad we have it.
