baby monitor ?

what are the main reasons to get 2 receivers?

Looking at it for a shower gift (she did not say what kind). I had to receivers but only ever used one that I remember. Anyone think 2 is better then 1 for a particular reason? My memory is foggy for the newborn period so I don't know what I'm forgetting.

Re: baby monitor ?

  • I guess only if you want to keep one in your bedroom and one in the kitchen/living area and not carry one back and forth. How big is their house? Do you think they'll need the monitor at night (close bedrooms?). We manage/d just fine with one.

  • We had one for the bedroom and one for the living area.  Just easier.

  • Ours was portable (battery op with a clip to carry around), so we had no need for 2.  Some of the receivers are on stands and only plug in, so they are hard to move around - in that case, I can see how 2 are more helpful.
  • We kept one in our master and one in the kitchen.  I always had a fear of not being able to hear them in their cribs at that stage.

aha! I thought they were pretty much all clip ons.
