Breastfeeding is hard. Hang in there. Your milk might not have come in yet so your LO is going to want to nurse to get the colostrum. I would hold off on giving formula yet until you get to the LC. There will be lots of ups and downs with breastfeeding but you have to decide what is right for you and your LO. Pumping .5 oz at this point is normal. Good luck!
You are doing GREAT! A half ounce after a feeding is good, especially this early on. Your LO's belly is still really small so don't expect your LO to eat a lot so early.
It is completely normal for your LO to want to nurse all.the.time in the beginning. Wait until you get your LO weighed and talk to a LC before making any decisions about formula.
I was still dry at day 3, my milk didn't really come in all the way until day 10. I would say watch for the right number of wet diapers (should be 5 on day five and 6 per day for the next 6 weeks) It is normal for baby to be nursing all the time... they have very tiny tummies and BM digests fast, so they have to keep filling them up... it is more that they can't hold much than that you aren't giving them much. Plus all that sucking is for getting your milk to come in, laying down good hormones so that it can increase during growth spurts, etc.
I am not against FFing, but it really doesn't sound like you have an issue, just perfectly normal concerns for the early days!
I saw that somebody linked kellymom on you other post... it is a really great resource!
I agree that BF was difficult in the beginning, I think I only got the hang of it until recently. I posted several questions on this board with mixed messages I was receiving and the only advice I really took was those that encouraged me to hang in there and continue to BF because that was what I wanted to do. At first, I was BF what seemed like every hour and then it went to almost 3 hours. For some reason now, we've bumped back to every 2-3 hours. If I remember correctly, I only felt comfortable with BF around week 3. During that time, I went to the Pedi every week to get LO weighed to ensure that she was getting enough. I say do what's best for you and LO and don't let anyone tell you what you should do.
Delivered 3 weeks and 2 days early via emergency c/s due to pre-e
I struggled the first month I hated BFing but had to do it bc of finances I did use a few formula samples but LO projectile vomited every time I gave it to him.
Now I am so happy that I stuck with BFing! I watch my LO sleep hoping for him to wake up bc I want to feed him, and I nurse everytime he cries whether he is hungry or not. Mom is a safe place and nursing is about so much more than food. LO can suck and not get any milk he will just suck for comfort and I love that I am the only one who can give him that comfort. Keep at it, I promise it will get easier as you practice more and more!! YOu and your LO need to practice so you can learn to work together.

Sometimes BF is hard; especially in the beginning. But I've found it really rewarding.
I agree with pp! You're doing fabulous; hang in there momma!!
