Is there a test if your baby has lactose intolerance?

Or is it just by eliminating the lactose and seeing if they do better? I mainly nurse during the day and formula feed at night and my little boy has been wheezing a lot at night. I mentioned this to my pedi 2 weeks ago and he said it's normal. It gets me very nervous though. I jist bought some soy based formula to test out. TIA!

  • I don't think wheezing is connected to lactose intolerance.

I guess the only reason I thought maybe they were connected is because he wheezes for awhile at night after his feeding. He actually does worse in his rock n play on an incline than he does lying flat in a bassinet. The only thing I could think is a possible allergy to something in the formula that causes a constriction in his throat. Not sure if anyone else's little one is wheezy or what they have heard about it. I am concerned that his pedi thinks it's normal cause he sounds like he is seriously struggling. For now I'm going to try to nurse at night and switch to the soy based formula if I need to supplement.
