Babies on the Brain

Yay. I'm not in the car right now.

We just got back from our road trip to South Dakota.  It was beautiful, amazing, and a fantastic trip of a lifetime but oh mah gah I am so done with being in the car.  12 hours each way, and it was fine until we got into Memorial Day traffic the last two hours.

Jack was a total road tripping champ - no problem traveling, sleeping at the campground, etc.

I am so glad to be home.  Hi BotB.

  • Welcome back! I think I would have to be heavily sedated to make a long car trip. The longest I've ever taken is right around 7 hours and even that was pure torture to me. I truly cannot imagine 12 hours (or longer).

I hope you don't have to leave your house for a long time. :)

  • It's always nice to be in your own bed after a trip.  I'm a bad road tripper.  After a few hours, I'm done.

When I was little, we did 12 hours from New York (and later Maryland) to my relatives' in Illinois. We did it in the summer and then for Christmas. How about a 7 year old and twin 2 year olds puking from motion sickness? I don't know how my parents survived.

    I post .gifs. It's what I do.

That sounds horrible. We drove 7 hours with DS last summer and after 1 hour, I was seriously considering canning the vacation and turning around to go home since he wouldn't stop screaming.

There's no way I could survive what you described. I know my limitations. lol

  • So glad you are home.
