So I stepped on the scale this morning and I have gained 5 pounds! What the heck! I still have 20 pounds to lose, so I'm definitely going the opposite way on the scale. I'm so upset. I'm not the dieting queen, but I'm breastfeeding, jogging, drinking tons of water, etc. The only thing I can think of is the birth control shot I'm on - depo. Ugh! I just want to cry! !
Re: Gaining instead of losing baby weight?
Before I had DD, I was losing weight and toning up. At that time, I was at about 215-220. I'm 5'4-5'5 (doctors always tell me different heights), so it's a lot on my frame and I was busting my butt to do something about it. I gained 65 pounds during my pregnancy, with the majority of it during the last trimester. Since having her 9 months ago, I'm only down 30lbs. About a month ago, I started really working out again and eating clean with small portions throughout the day. I'm at 254 and then, I was hovering between 267 and 265. So in a month, I'm down 11-13 lbs. If you don't have a specific eating lifestyle, you may want to check out eating clean. Honestly, it feels so good on your body and everything is really acceptable in moderation.
Check out TheGraciousPantry.com or EatCleanDiet.com (go to The Kitchen Table for recipes/meal plans/etc). I just tried out some no sugar smoothies from TGP. Not a big fan of the apple cinnamon one, but the peanut butter banana fixed my java craving somehow.
Have a thyroid panel run - many women have their thyroid go haywire PP. Mine was borderline but I was experiencing full-fledged hypothyroid symptoms. It was a pain to finally get an MD to check it (ran 16 diabetes tests before they ran the panel) and took a endocrinologist who specialized in weight loss to get the true diagnosis.
