I feel freaking AH-MAZING. I'm so glad I went! I did 20 minutes of walking on the treadmill at 3.0 incline, 25 minutes on the elliptical at a comfortable pace, and some arm and leg machine weights. If you are on the fence about working out since getting pregnant, try it out!!!
I'm totally sold on this working-out-during-pregnancy business; I will try to do some activity every day. I realize that things like M/S and other issues will arise and possibly prevent me from doing so, but I want to at least give it my best shot. I'm quite overweight already, and I just want to give me and the baby the best start I can.
Hope everyone is having a splendid day! I'm off to clean the house before DH comes home...
Re: Just went to the gym and...
In the last two years I was planning all this activity I would do when I got pregnant. But then my dr. told me no exercise at all during the first tri, and I can't say I was too dissapointed. I am so out of breath right now. Today I cleaned the house and I had to lay down twice to catch my breath. It surprised me as I was working out six days a week right before the bfp.
You are awesome though!

So far I've been able to do my regular workouts ever since i found out I was pregnant. You are so right though, you feel so good afterwards and it's that feeling afterwards that makes you keep going. On the days where I wake up feeling gross and groggy even a 30min walk with my dog outside is all it takes to make me energized enough to do my workout!
Keep it up!!!
I was in my 5th week of training for a 5k when I realized I was preggers. Everything I read said that if you are already running - then great, but don't train. So I have switched to taking nice walks everyday. I still alternate speed walking and walking, and I do some toning and lots of stretching. Dr. Oz says that walking for 1/2 hour everyday is perfect for everyone - people who are pregnant, people who are overweight, and everyone else. I agree with him.
fitpregnancy.com is also a great place to help you get on track with healthy eating and approproate exercise. I feel like now is the best time ever to be as healthy as I can, in every way possible!
Agreed! On the days I work out, I seem to have like an extra blast of energy. Sometimes it scares me how not tired I feel on those days. I was teaching Zumba 4 times a week, but with school out (taught there after school) I'm down to 1. So on the other days, I've been doing 40 min on the elliptical and then about 4 weight machines at the gym. I feel awesome! That and my gym time is my little break time from my girls. I love them to death, but Mommy needs a little me time.
I was working out 5-6 times a week pre-pregnancy though, so I feel comfortable continuing at that rate. My last two pg I was probably the most inactive pregnant woman you'd have met. But I don't want to gain 65 and 40lbs like I did then, either. Bad mommy!
If you're weren't working out pre-pregnancy walking 30 minutes a day is the recommended exercise unless your doctor has advised against it.
