When you were in the hospital w/your new DC...

...did you actually get him/her dressed the first day?  Like in a sleeper or whatever?

I didn't dress DS until we were leaving.  Before that he hung out in one of those long sleeved t-shirts and was swaddled most of the time.  My friend had a baby yesterday and has posted pics already w/her dressed up.

  • Yes, I put DD in a gown. She despised being swaddled.

  • I never dressed my DS up until the day we were leaving.
  • He wore a tshirt and swaddling blanket until it was time for his hospital pic on the second or third day. I don't think I left him in the outfit for longer than the pictures, either. The  blanket was easier.

  • No, not until we were leaving.

My hospital room neighbor dressed up her baby girl, she had a c-section and was there for 3 days already, maybe she just got tired of the hospital receiving blankets....

  • Both of my girls were born at night, (11:31p and 9:21p) so I dressed then in a sleeper the next day.
  • Sadly, I never even put the "coming home" outfit on my newborn. He was happy in his little onesie and hospital blankets:)
  • I just had her in the shirt with the blanket lightly around her.  She really didn't leave my arms/chest the whole time I was there.  She still hasn't almost a week later.

  • nope but with Michelle being in the NICU they encourage them to be dressed once they are stablized.  So she was getting dressed when she was 5 days old.

  • We didn't dress them until we left.

The hospital shirt and swaddle was enough.

  • I was about to say that we didn't dress DD until we were leaving, but seeing someone else's post reminded me that we put a onesie on her for her hospital pics. We had to strip her completely each time she nursed, so she didn't wear it for more than an hour or two and then went back into the hospital t-shirt and blanket.

  • I put ds 2 in his cute little outfit to go home first thing in the am. we had a short stay. they took him to circ and he peed on the whole thing soooo.  I had a backup but yep next time I 'll wait til we are about to leave.
  • No not until we left for home. She was comfy in her t-shirt and diaper.
  • I didn't dress mine either.  Both of them had horrible reflux and I ended up using the hospital t-shirts - and going through about 10-15 per day.
