Diaper Bag- Question

Moms of more than one did you find that you needed (or were glad you had) a larger diaper bag?!  We have one for DS that I really like but I am afraid that with #2 coming we will want something a little larger.  DS's is perfect for him and running around, gets tight when traveling.

If so what bag do you have or recommend?

Re: Diaper Bag- Question

  • I have not had personal experience with a diaper bag of my own yet. However, my mom has three 1 yr olds in her house (1 is hers & the rest are foster kids). She has a personal diaper bag for my brother, which she also uses as a purse, and she usually sticks in some spare diapers for any extra kids she has with her. For daycare each day (foster kids only) she packs an individual backpack with diapers & wipes. She does own a very large bag, but only uses it for overnight things or longer trips. She hates how heavy it gets & how inconvenient it is.

  • I have got to think that one would be fine.  Especially if you are just talking a short day out.  Wipes and creams can be shared you just need a few different diapers.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

  • I already know that I will need a bigger diaper bag for when #2 comes even though DS will be potty trained (he better be! LOL) by then. There are a couple of reasons - we CD, so they take up more space, and DS has horrible astma and allergies so we have to carry around a huge inhaler spacer that takes up a ton of space, inhalers, epi-pens, and any food he needs to eat when we are out due to food allergies. I already use a pretty large diaper bag to carry all of that stuff, and it is totally maxed out (I don't carry a seperate purse either, so my wallet, keys, phone, etc., is also in there).

I'm looking at the Ju Ju Be Be Prepared diaper bag for when #2 is here. It's really large. https://www.shopjujube.com/Product.aspx?l=00010005000000000000&p=JJB01238

I also have an old Ultimate Diaper Bag from Pottery Barn that I used right after DS was born and it was huge as well (but I don't really like it very much - very boring looking, but it functions well).

  • We cloth diaper as well and have a petunia pickle bottom boxy backpack now and it is always stuffed. One of my friends has this bag and I love it because it is huge. I plan on getting it before LO#2 arrives.

  • I had 3 under 4 so I was kinda forced to get a larger diaper bag Stick out tongue It was well worth it imo! It was actually a gift from a friend. If I remember right it was by Eddie Bauer.

    GL with your search!

  • I am a big purse type of girl so of course I am also a big diaper bag type of girl. I liked just buying big purses as my diaper bag.

I think it depends on how old they are. I will have 2 under 2 but plan to potty train my DD before #2 comes along.

If you are going to still have both in diapers... you will definitely need something bigger. Otherwise your normal diaper bag should be fine. (Even though newborns take up a ton of space with the number of diapers/outfits they go through) haha :)

  • I ended up making my own, mostly for daycare purposes.  We cloth diaper, so a days worth of diapers at daycare easily filled up half, plus lunch, etc...  I think I'll continue to use that one for both of them, as I'm planning for DD to be out of diapers this summer.
