Hi ladies, I was wondering how many of you have been told your baby's head is not engaged this late in the game. At my Dr.'s appt yesterday my Dr. said my baby's head was not engaged yet and this was a concern (I'm a FTM). He started talking about a c-section, which is not ideal. Anyone else been told this? Are you concerned? Words of wisdom? TIA!

Re: Baby's head not engaged?
I'm 0cm dilated, 0%effaced, and baby is still very high up, definitely not engaged. My OB mentioned that they could do induction but it would be a 50% chance that it would result in c-section...I assume that's the boat you're in?
On top of that, I apparently have very narrow and awkward pelvic bones, which concern him so he said we could go straight to c-section and avoid any complications. We're scheduled next Friday June 3.
If your only issue is that baby is not engaged yet, I don't know if you have to be too concerned. Your doc will probably let you go to 42 weeks right? I know a lot of people who have said the baby didn't "drop" until the day they went into labor. And you could always give induction a shot before you go right to c-section.

I would keep your ground and at least try the induction. It doesn't hurt to try to avoid a serious surgery. There are plenty of babies that don't engage until they go into labor. Good luck! I hope the baby cooperates
