Help Me RE: Sewing Machines

I'm mostly a lurker here, but my Kenmore machine just broke. I've tried to get it repaired, but seeing as I live in the middle of nowhere, it appears that that's not possible.

This is the one I have: Clicky

I would like something similar; easy to use, straightforward. I would just get another of the same kind, but I'm afraid it will break again. Can you recommend yours or one you think is good. Budget is tops $300.

Re: Help Me RE: Sewing Machines

  • I have a Brother from Walmart. I don't do a ton of sewing, and nothing I make is hard-core or anything, but it definitely does the job for me. I think it has 15-20 stitches. Very easy to thread etc. I really like it. I think it was $100-150

  • I have the same Adrienne! I got it like, 9 years ago or something crazy like that but it still does the job. I think it was 200. And I use it for everything, it's still truckin along :)

  • I have been lucky enough to just buy a Bernette 92c. It's amazing. AMAZING! Not sure how much it is in the US but maybe a cheaper Bernette would work?
