Will you just put them down in their swing/bassinet/bouncy chair so you can get things done or just get a break?
Whenever Silas is awake I make sure I am talking to him and paying attention to him, but sometimes I am just so tempted to put him down so I can have a little break. But I feel bad, even though he is content to just lay in his bassinet and listen to music.
What about you?

I sometimes leave her in the pack 'n play or the bouncer downstairs. I do interact with her the majority of the time, but she can lay very peacefully--and I use that time to get things done.
She also seems to be awake for hours in the late afternoon--like 4-8; so sometimes it is a necessity.
I've felt really guilty about that, but I put him down. Right now I feel like all I do is feed him, change him, and burp him. My midwife had me feeding him every 2 hours minimum and waking him up at night to feed. After 6 days of that I called the lactation nurse and asked her opinion (I don't see the midwife again until Tuesday and I was going to lose my mind) and she told me because of how well he is feeding I don't need to wake him up in the night. Once I start getting more than about 1hour of sleep at a time, I may be able to enjoy our non-eating time together a little more- for now, if he'll stay in his crib without crying, I need to try to sleep.
same.
I am glad you said this... I was beginning to think I am missing some motherly instinct. I do talk to my littly guy, but sometimes/most times I feel like maybe I don't say enough... but I am not really sure what to talk to a 2 week old about...
