B has been sick for just about as long as I have (week and a half) but seems a little less sick in the sense that he has energy. His nose is crazy-runny (green, thick) and he coughs sometimes.
Since he's a booger-monster, the cold has now spread to his eyes and he's got goopy green mucus coming from his eyes (pinkeye). He seems pretty unfazed by it all.
Other than looking gross, I think he's fine. However, he wasn't too keen on me squirting bm into his eyes and I'm not sure if that remedy will work since he just rubs it out.
Should I call the pedi and accept whatever meds they may/may not prescribe? We're not likely to get our pedi on the phone since he's not on call. Off hours, ya just get whoever is on call at the hospital (not a pedi). I know this sickness will pass but it feels like child abuse not to give him something...
I'm also about to lose my mind. I feel SOFRIGGINBAD that I can't even deal with small things. I can't breathe, I keep coughing, my body hurts. The baby accidentally scratched me with his fingernail and I burst into tears.
Talk me down. I'm about to explode.
Re: We have a situation here: wwyd?
I'm sorry
I don't know whether I'd call the doc, especially if I just got whoever. Do you think it could wait until Tuesday?
Oh, and a thought!! Are you squirting his eye directly with your boob, or putting expressed milk into a dropper? If you're using a dropper, and you can get him to shut his eye, you can put the drops into the inside corner of his eye, and when he opens it, they'll go in. It's much easier than trying to get them in with his eyes open. But I'm not sure how it would work if you're one of those magical women who can hand express and you're going directly from the boob.
I also like Papa's idea of getting YH to take care of things. A long hot bath without thinking about water waste can go a long way to relaxing and making things better.

Mother's Day, 2011
((HUGS)) I had to deal w/ Addy all alone last week on top of it and everything esle that was going on, so believe me I fully sympathize!
ditto DH helping out maybe?
Also, I would call the pedi or go to an urgent care type place if you feel it needs actually looked at. Pink Eye can accompany sinus and/or ear infections so you just never know!
Thanks, women. Hubs has been holding down fort for awhile now and we're all at a breaking point. I don't know how Celt's been doing it alone all week! Give that woman a trophy!
We're heading to an emergency care center down the street that *just* opened for the season. Wish us luck!
And Bug, I figured out how to hand express one day and was like, "Wow! It's like milking a cow!" Still not really great at it, but it's fun to shoot!

I'm glad you're going to the dr too. It sounds like he probably has an ear infection - that's the only time Quinn ever had green coming from his eyes and nose. Let us know what happens!
I hope you're feeling better soon too!
I agree. I would have suggested doctor too because it sounds like you both might have sinus, etc infections with the green stuff. The eye goop could have just been from that and not pinkeye. Eli and I get that with our seasonal allergies. I've made it through sinus infections with antibiotics but sometimes they're worse than others.
Let us know how you made out!
ETA: Aannddd you already followed up
