Good morning ladies. So, I went to BRU last night to get a present for my SIL's baby shower next Saturday. I saw a bunch of pregnant women there registering and it made me realize that I would be there registering with my DH next month! BRU is so overwhelming and I feel like I won't even know where to begin. I think DH and I are going to go with my SIL. She has a 1 1/2 year old and I feel like she will be able to help us. I know there are registry checklists out there-anyone find a good one??

Re: Anyone else nervous to register??
Also (like you mentioned) asking ladies who are already moms, is another great resource.
I'd really recommend getting a copy of the new Baby Bargains book. It breaks down what to look for in each type of item, as well as rates each make/model. Definitely worth the $10 or so it costs.
www.lucieslist.com has some good suggestions, too.

Yeah I'm definitely not feeling ready to register yet but I'm hoping I feel more ready after the a/s next month!! I need to register soon after the a/s because my mom and I decided that it would be a good idea to have my shower in August before I go back to school. It will be a little early but it will give me a chance to get things ready before things get crazy with school.
Less than 3 weeks until our anatomy scans!! DH and I are having a gender reveal party so we won't officially find out until June 24th!!
We went in to BRU for the first time after our anatomy scan and were overwhelmed. It's a lot to take in. I agree with PPs suggestions on Lucie's List and asking other moms.
What helped us most through the emotional part was to know that we only had to put one thing on there to start the registry and that we could add the rest later. You don't have to do it all at once or all in the store. We started the registry with what we knew we wanted and have gradually added to it from there. We used our time in the store to try out items in person and to see what we thought. Then, we went home and researched them. We've gradually built up our registry and I actually need to go online and clean them up a bit as we've registered for different big items at different stores (since I put some on there at one store to remind myself to research them and did and changed what I want). We also double registered for stuff at BRU and BBB. We did the same for our wedding as you never know where people will want to buy stuff. Plus, BBB has an easy return policy so if we get doubles, we'll just take them back there.
It also helped to assign certain things to me to research and others to DH to research. It was less overwhelming that way.
I know, I can't believe how close it is at this point. It feels so foreign to me. I'm putting my $ on a boy, but I guess we will see. DH can't go to my scan so I am having it recorded so we can watch it together that night and find out what LO is at the same time. I think it's great that you're doing a reveal party! Are you doing a cake?
Yes, we are doing a cake. We are going to have our doctor or u/s tech seal the results in an envelope. Then, we are going to take the envelope to the baker and tell them to bake the bake either pink or blue based on the results. We are only having about 10 family and close friends so it doesn't seem to AWish. We are sooo excited!!!
I love babies, and cake- therefore I think this idea is ingenious!
I'm really, very far off from this stage, but I can tell you that the thought of it makes me nervous.
I checked out that Lucie's List - very informative. Have fun with it! Good luck!
