I just thought I'd share this in case I'm not the only person on the planet that didn't know this, but on any of these devices, if you double click the home button, all the programs/apps that you have running will appear so you can close them.
If your battery always seems to be running out quickly, it's entirely possible that you could have some 50+ apps running! Closing them speeds up th OS and reduces battery usage.
When you double click the home button and the apps appear at the bottom, you just hold your finger over an app until the little minus symbols show up and then you press the minus signs to close them.
I had no idea! I had practically every app open on my iPad and touch!

If you hold your finder on the app then it will start to wiggle and the little X should appear in the top corner, just click the X (like if you were deleting the app completely) and it will close it. (Only do this from the part where you have clicked the home button twice, otherwise you are actually deleting the app.)
