Mother Vent

My mom told me this morning she wants to help my BFF with the baby shower. She will be doing most of it from out of state so anything she can do on the internet will probably be handled by her.

She sent me to a site this morning to pick out invites for the baby shower and I found one I really like and let her know which one. Well she wants to start changing font styles on it and since I'm a designer that is one thing that KILLS me. 

The font she wants is super scripty, small, lower case, and you can barely read it. I told her; "Mom there is a reason they chose the font they did for my name. There is a lot of script already on there and the font you want is so tiny you can barely see it. Trust me this is what I went to school for" I know I need to let this go and just let her do it, but I have a degree in design and bad fonts drive me nuts lol

    We all have likes, dislikes and pet peeves, and I totally understand why you feel the way you do. Perhaps you could start by telling her how appreciative you are of her and your BFF organizing the shower but that when she offered you the chance to choose the invitation, you realised it was a great chance for you to put your own 'stamp' on one aspect of the event. Remind her that all your friends and family recognise you for being a professional designer and the choice you made truly reflects who you are or you would've happily designed it yourself. I'd also remind her that the rest of the organization is up to her and your BFF's discretion, and that you're super-happy to let them make all the other decisions. I support you :-)
