Any *magical* migraine during PG tricks???

Hi Ladies-

Fun....fun....I spent another night in L&D last night because I had a horrible migraine all day yesterday which then resulted in lots of vomiting last night. OB wanted me to get fluids and make sure it wasn't related to my high BP.

Luckily, pre-e labs are still normal, baby was fine and BP was fairly good while we were there.

Still have a migraine this morning (and they sent me home with NO meds...).

Anyone have any "magical" tricks to get them to go away? Extra strength Tylenol isn't doing sh!t.

I don't have anything, but I'm sorry about the migraine, vomiting, and having to go back to L&D.  :(  Hope you feel better soon and I'm glad everything else is okay.

  • Cold pack over your eyes. Caffeine. Fioricet is safe during pregnancy. Perhaps your OB can call in a script this morning if they know you still have the migraine. That is what i take when i am pg and get a bad migraine. I hope you feel better
  • Ugh, sorry you are dealing w this.. I got terrible migraines all through out my last pregnancy and that's also kind of how I figured out I was pg again.. Had another terrible one a few weeks ago. Some homeopathic stuff that I donis Bengay on your neck and feet..my migraines are more in my neck area.. Feet cause that's a pressure point. Also peppermint oil on a cold cold wash cloth on your face can help.. The smell of peppermint helps. Also accu/pregnancy message can help, for me it's my hormones going all wacky that leads to the migranes. If they get really bad you can take one Tylenol tension headache..or even hydrocodone to get rid of it. But if you already went to the ER hopefully they can give you something to get rid of it. I hope you feel better soon, migraines totally stink :(
  • An ice pack behind your neck DOES WONDERS. If it doesn't make the migraine completely go away, it at least takes the edge off. Definitely try it.

Also, a few sips of regular Coke and being in a dark room helps as well.

  • Ditto the Coke. It kept my headaches manageable.

  • I also had an rx for fioricet. It was a life saver during the 2nd trimester when my migraines were unbearable. Hope you feel better soon!

  • My OB and neuro approved reglan plus a big dose of tylenol. It was amazing! Worked way better than imitrex or other drugs do while not pregnant!
