Mastitis sucks

I have a case of mastitis.  I feel like crap and dh ran out to the pharmacy to get my prescription.  Of course, ds decides tonight is a great night to be super fussy.  Plus my head is spinning probably because when the Tylenol and Advil I am taking wears off my fever was 102, so I am trying not to hold him more than I have to just to be safe.

I think I am going to have to supplement with formula tonight as well.  My supply is diseased boob side has really dropped.  Tonight just sucks. I am ready for dh to get home, take my antibiotic, and attempt to sleep until I have to pump.

    Mastitis does suck. When I had it, it took a good week for my supply to rebound on the infected side. Pumping will help to clear the infection (along with the antibiotics). Call your dr if you don't feel much better after being on the antibiotics for 24 hrs. Hope you feel better soon!

    I am hoping that once the infection is cleared up my supply will rebound.  I hate having to give him formula when he is doing so good on breastmilk, but hey a baby's gotta eat I suppose.

    Oh and let me just add the cold chills and hot sweats with this fever are insane.  I actually soaked my clothes and my sheets on the bed with sweat last night.

    Oh my gosh I'm so sorry you got it, it really truly is the worst. Just cuddle that boy and nurse as much as you can. Your supply will come back up, I promise :-) Whenever I get it I nurse on the infected side first almost every feeding, that helps it come back faster.
