OMFG FIL Vent
So my FIL is a serious azzhat!. He has this very Father Knows Best attitude and thinks that DH should blindly follow anything he says. We are in the process of buying a home. It's an Estate and really just needs to be updated floors, baths, and kitchen. So FIL thinks that we need to remodel everything before we move in. We have told him that it's not what we want. This morning DH is gettting ready for work and his phone rings, it's a mortgage broker friend of FIL who is offering to do us a new loan that will allow us Rehab money so that we can "Have it all fixed up before we move in"
Uh Hello! How many times do you need to be told that it is our dream to buy a home and remodel it ourselves. I seriuolsy resent him treating us as if we can't/don't make the right descisons for our family.
I really needed to get that out.

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. My FIL is the same way. We went to his house for Mothers Day and after dinner we were talking and all of a sudden the topic of holidays come up. He starts bossing MIL & stepFIL around and telling them that they need to come here for the holidays.
He started reaming us about who's house we would do Thanksgiving and Christmas at. Then he starts in about our insurance and if they are paying everything like they should. I finally had to tell him that it was time for us to go home so that Edmund could go to bed.
