Hey, all.
So I was officially "diagnosed" with GD... SUCK! They have me testing my sugar 4 times a day and on a restricted diet.
I'm finding it VERY boring and challenging, though! Do you guys have any recipes or ideas for how I can feel more full? I feel like the breakfast in particular is TINY! I usually have an english muffin with peanut butter and jelly, a HUGE glass of milk, and a piece of fruit. Now they want me on a piece of toast, an egg, and "1 fat" (whatever that is)... YUCK!
For those of you who have it, what do you eat during the day that keeps you FULL but fits into the diet? Are there any "freebies" or things that I can eat whenever I want without it messing with my numbers? Since I started testing, I haven't been OVER the number, even after the BBQ last night (i had a veggie burger on half a bun with mayo, ketchup, and no cheese, cole slaw, tomato salad, and LOTS of veggies and dip and even a TINY scoop of dessert...)
I can't meet with the nutritionist until next week because of the holiday weekend, but the doctor did get me started. I almost think it is better that I'm trying to do it for a weekend so that I can HAVE questions for the nutritionst when we do meet...

Re: GD questions...
Hi there- I just did a ton of research on GD because my MW thought I was borderline but I passed my 2 hour test so I'm in the clear.
1 fat is equal to 5 g fat- 1 tsp butter, 1 tbsp regular salad dressing, 1/2 tbsp peanut butter, 1 tbsp cream cheese...that sort of thing. Most fat free and reduced fat condiments are on the free food list so don't count those!
The free foods unfortunately are all drinks and condiments...here is a link for you:

if you are having trouble with exchanges and serving sizes you can try this website:

good luck!
I was also diagnosed
One other thing I was told is a free food is sugar free jello, any flavor! I'm meeting with my dietician on Wednesday & would be glad to let you know anything else they tell me.
