? for bedsharers/co-sleepers...

When did you or will you transition your LO to their crib?

Re: ? for bedsharers/co-sleepers...

  • With DD we bedshared until she was around 9 months.  By then she was moving around a lot a night and we weren't sleeping very well.  We will move DS as soon as our sleep is impacted.

  • My first two each moved into their cribs at 4mths. DS#1 still sleeps in his own room. DD started crawling into bed with us again when she was about 2yrs old. She still crawls into our bed every night. DS#2 is in our bed and will probably stay there for a long time, just because I love the snuggles so much. It also makes it much MUCH easier for night time feedings.

  • With DS1 we transitioned around 13 months.  In hindsight he was probably ready a bit sooner.

  • We're hoping for 6 months (when the risk of SIDS drops significantly), but it will really be up to LO...

  • I plan to transition him once he's sleeping 8+ hours a night consistently. Right now he usually sleeps 6-7 hours and then wakes up to eat. He's getting there!

  • When she is STTN consistently. Her room is downstairs and ours is upstairs so I don't want to have to run up and down the stairs all night.

  • With DS, he came to bed with us after his first feeding, before that he was in his crib, so when he started STTN he just stayed in his crib.

DS and DD will be sharing a room once we put DD in her crib, so we will transition her once she is STTN. I don't want her to mess with DS's sleep, he sleeps from 830 to 700 and hardly ever wakes up. If he does miss sleep for some reason, he's a nightmare.

  • We started at 1 month exactly. But when he wakes up around 2am for his 1st feeding he stays with me in bed. But most naps are taken in the crib.
