I witnessed today, in Wal Mart (which is why I was only mildly surprised), a couple take their child's pants off, try on numerous pairs of pants in the middle of the store, then CHANGE HER FRIGGIN DIAPER in the cart. She was like, a toddler.
I draw the line there, lol, I was grossed out. :P

Re: LOL- People skeeved out by bare changing tables....
UUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHhhh what is wroooooong with people.
when I worked at Target people used to change diapers in the fitting room all of the time which, by the way for those who don't realize, is NOT okay.

I change LO in fitting rooms; I just put down a couple of changing pads. I BF in fitting rooms when stores don't have nursing / mother's rooms and since I'm in there I go ahead and change her. It's not like we get poop smeared everywhere. I don't see the big deal.

I've done this also!
Yeah, I do this. I try to put pants on him when we go out (or at least a onesie) but when he's extra cranky/uncomfortable, I skip it. It's freaking Florida- 90 degree weather during the day and it's at least 120 degrees inside when I open my car. (I let it air out before either of us get in but still!). It's hot. My kid can rock a cute CD and a nice shirt. I'm okay with that.
I totally don't see anything wrong with changing a diaper in the fitting room as long as you lay a pad down. I would never leave a dirty diaper in there but I nurse A in there if I can't find someplace that's appropriate and I will change his diaper in there as well, the CD comes home with me though so I'm not sure what I would do if he was in disposables.
You cut me deep, OSC! Our Walmarts are actually not hickish here. There are 4 that are close to me... 2 get lots of Amish, the other 2 get the ghetto.
And I once saw a woman change her baby's diaper on a display platform at Target... It had strollers, PnPs, cribs, changers, etc on it, and she said to her H, "I never even considered a changing table for our kids... I just change them wherever we are. It's more convenient."
obviously...
