Hello everyone! After waxing poetic about how much I love you guys a few days ago, I have yet to post my birth story from Wednesday - forgive me, I've been tired, busy and in loooove with my new baby ![]()
I was scheduled for induction on Wednesday at 7:15am, and my alarm was set for 5:00am that morning. At 2am I woke up with some bad cramping, and at 3:15 I felt a for sure pop.... my water broke! I woke up DH, hopped in a shower and got ready to actually have the natural birth I wanted. HA.
Within 30 minutes, my contractions were strong beyond belief and 3-5 minutes apart. By the time we got in the car on the way to the hospital, my wuss self was in unbearable pain screaming about how she is an only chlid and I am getting an epidural ASAP. So much for natural. It hurt so much more than I thought, total kudos to all natural ladies out there, Im not cut out for it apparantly.
When we got to the hospital I got the epidural, but it really didn't work. It took them a couple hours to beleive me, and I was a pyschopath in immense pain and only maybe 4cm. Embarassing, but oh well. I got my working epidural, relaxed, and by noon it was pushing time!
I pushed for over an hour, she was RIGHT THERE, but I spiked a fever of 102, babies heart rate went to 190, and she had to come out. Doctor used a little vacuum to get her out (again, I was opposed to this - oh well!) so she and I were safe. Worked like a charm and out she came at 1:36pm on 5/25. She weighed 7 lbs 7 oz, was 21 1/4 inches long, and the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
We are home from the hospital and happy. Im a breast reduction momma, and Im pumping non existent milk and producing a little colostrum that I feed to her, but she's had to get formula, but much like my birth that wasn't what I planned, I am okay with it. We are healthy and happy and that is all that matters! Hopefully when my milk comes in we can decrease the formula a bit.
So here she is! The pic of me and her is beyond flattering somehow, I swear I looked NOTHING like that in any of the others. It was the magic shot that DH took. I thank him for it
Also she is beautiful. Just sayin. Im in loooove

and like PP's said- don't worry about the milk yet. Day 10 is shaping up to be the magic number for me. No formula yet today, but still having to give extra pumped in bottles. I think my milk is finally coming in though!
