NBR - House Warming Gift ideas

Hello Ladies! Anyone have any good housewarming gift ideas? My good friend from college who happened to marry a friend of mine from high school (so cool!), just moved into a new house. They have a 2 1/2 year old. I am trying to think of a nice gift or something I could make for them that is kind of special. I am looking to spend around $50 or less. They don't live very close, so I wasn't able to help with the move or drop anything off. Any suggestions?

Re: NBR - House Warming Gift ideas

  • Are you going to be physically dropping it off (or do you know someone that could?)  Because my go-to housewarming gift is a big hanging flower basket to hang on the front porch or deck, and I usually find them for around $25 at a local nursery.

If you are mailing it...hmmm...can't go wrong with a Home Depot gift card, you know they'll use it!

Or a "Smith Family, Established 2011" sign for the front door?  I've seen some cute ones on Etsy, and if you're crafty maybe you could make one?

board games, a bottle of liquor or wine, a picnic basket filled with a meal, a Lowe's/Home Depot gift card or a local grocery store gift card.

Walmart also has wax warmers that are very nice for $15 and the wax is only $2.  IMHO, the wax scents are just as strong and last just as long.  AND, they do sell the warmers & wax on-line

We are hoping to get over to their home one of these days! I like the sign for the front door. Stupid question - do I put the year they were married or the year they bought the home? I guess it probably depends on what the sign says. Maybe, depending on the cost, we could put together a basket that includes the sign and some candles, etc.

All great ideas, ladies! Thank you!

On the sign we have, we put the year we were married.  But I think either would be fine...

"Smith Family, est 2003" or "Smith Residence, est 2011" both sound good to me!
