How much time have you spent on the nursery?

Tonight is the first night we are sleeping in our new house (whoo-Hoo), and with Ian's arrival less than 8 weeks away now, I have finally been able to start on his nursery! My mom came over today with crib bedding (that we spent about an hour picking out) and paint samples. We spent another hour just looking at & deciding on a wall color. Then we went shopping for curtains. We have spent about 5 hours so far on the nursery. We still have to set up the furniture, paint the room, and decorate. My mom is great at decorating so I'm sure it would take me twice as long to do this on my own.

So, how many hours have you spent on the nursery? Is it finished? Is anyone helping you?

  • Probably about 5 hours as well - although we had the room painted for us and a new closet and built-in shelf put in.  I'm super excited because we are putting together the furniture this weekend!  Should be finished before my shower in 2 weeks and I'm so excited to show it off!

  • Not much yet.  The good news is that the room is already painted and we've got most of the stuff we need.  We're using all the furniture & decor from our 1st DD.  We got DD 1 a 'big girl' bedroom set a few weeks before we found out we were pregnant again.  I've got 2 more weeks until I'm off for the summer so we'll be organizing the nursery soon since it's being overtaken by boxes of stuff.

  • Maybe 5 hours as well, we ordered the furniture and it took us a few trips to pick it out so maybe more than 5 hours. We spent an hour in the paint shop, but we have that. It took us an hour to clear out the nursery of the guest room furniture and moved it into the pc room. The room is now emptied and tapped off ready to paint. once that is done, I am getting carpet cleaned and getting a shelf put into the closet hopefully all of this is done b4 furniture arrives.

  • Not much, maybe two hours. We moved out the old guest bed and put the short dresser in the closet. Then last weekend we rented a steam cleaner for the carpet.

This weekend we're going to put together the crib. Really that's going to be it for a while. We didn't paint, it was already a nice gender neutral pale orange. Probably hang a few things on the wall.

  • Were giving olive Ellie nursery and creating Ellie a big girl room. We have a lot to do we just started working on redoing the two rooms we need to do to get Olive in the nursery. But we should be able to finish it all now before she arrives. Only thing I have to do to the nursery is put her crib and dresser in and change out a few of the decorations. I've spent about 5 hours on getting the other rooms getting ready for demo.
  • Not much :( We have been trying to clean out everything that was in there before (it was a guest/storage room) but we are making slow progress. I told DH I want to paint this week so hopefully this week we will start making some gains!
  • Not much at all...we've 1/2 cleaned out the closet and some movers moved out our office to the family room.  The bedding should be here next week and then I can pick out paint to get it painted and then we need new carpet.  Then we can finally start setting up furniture
  • We haven't done anything yet because we have a roommate who is moving out the middle of next month, and he's currently in the room we are using for the nursery. We still have to paint and do the floors an everything! Egh I can't wait to get it started! We've gotten some of the furniture... I can't wait to put it together!
