We're going to visit the ILs for the weekend and decided at the last minute to stop in Charlotte on our way to visit good friends. They moved into a new house recently and are feeding us lunch on our way through so I wanted to bring a housewarming gift (or some sort of gift) to give them. They have a 2 year old boy and 10 month old girl. Any ideas of something I could pick up today to take?? TIA!
Re: NBR: Ideas for last-minute housewarming gift?
I wouldn't necessarily take something for the kids unless you really want to. I typically take a nice bottle of wine (if they enjoy that sort of thing) or I hit up West Elm or some kind of design store for a unique piece.
I found these cool, glass outdoor candle holders to take to a friend once because I knew she loved outdoor entertaining. Also Star Provisions has tons of neat little things that might be fun as a gift.
I would take a bottle of wine and a good candle, right now I'm loving Tyler Candles in either Pristine, Limelight or Ira Jean. They also make one that smells kinda like the Pink Johnson and Johnson baby lotion called Babydoll that might be sweet to take since they have a baby girl.
I would take a bottle of wine or something else if they aren't wine drinkers - champagne, margarita mix/salt w/glasses, premium liquor etc. Can you tell I haven't had a drink in a very long time?
Get them a monogrammed doormat from Frontgate. One of the coir ones. here's a link:
