postal question

So I had to mail something important the other day, took it to the post office, and it has shown up in my mailbox "return to sender" because I'm an idiot and didn't put the full address on the envelope.  If I change the address, can I just put it back in the mailbox with the original postage that I purchased the day I took it to the post office??  Or do I have to start all over and re-purchase the postage?

Re: postal question

  • I've always put new postage on if any ink is on the postage stamp.  Not sure it that is the rule though.

  • If they postmarked it, you have to start all over.  That stinks!  Sorry!
