Brewers yeast

I bought some yesterday to help with milk production, and put 2Tbsp in my oatmeal this morning, and it was gross. I couldn't bring myself to eat it, and I'm certain if I had, I would have thrown it all up. Yup, that gross.

So for anyone that takes brewers yeast, how do you incorporate it into your diet? I don't have the time to bake, nor would I turn on the oven in this heat, so lactation cookies are out. I suppose I could get it in tablet form if all else fails, but I already bought the canister, and don't want it to go to waste.

Re: Brewers yeast

  • It does taste gross!!  I use it mainly in baking so cookies, breads, etc.  I also add to smoothies sometimes but not a lot maybe 1/2 tablespoon thats all i can handle.

  • Yeah brewers yeast is soooo gross!!! My dad is acutally a brewer and so I'm so lucky that I get to smell that stuff all the time.  I did actually run across a website earlier that sends you pre-baked lactation cookies.  They're expensive, but if you don't have time to bake it might be worth it!

  • I eat it sprinkled on popcorn. If you hate the taste so much, that's probably no help. Sorry.

  • I add ground flax and brown sugar.  I can't taste it then.
