Laundry hamper for LO's room?

I realize this is a silly thing to ponder, but what are you guys using for a laundry hamper in LO's room? I bought this basic fabric hamper from BRU for LO's room, but have since thought about taking it back and just using a basket in LO's closet (or something super-cheap). What are you doing?

That is what we have for DS#1 and got something similar for DS#2 for his room. We have it in the corner of the room, so it is not that noticeable.

There is a dark brown rattan Koala Baby hamper at BRU that I'm thinking of getting. I got some very similar baskets that I have on the dresser. They are lined with cream fabric and the hamper has the same.

We use a similar hamper from BRU for DS (I think its the pale green Little Boutique on with the monkey on it). We like it a lot. I plan on getting the same type in a different color for #2 since we like DS's so much.

I'm glad to hear a couple votes for the one I have. The online reviews are tepid for it, but I also tend to think that online reviews can skew negative. Maybe I'll just stick w/it as it was cheap (esp w/the 20% off coupon I used) and I like it fine. I was just questioning whether a cloth hamper was bad w/ LO's puke/poo and if it was just going to fall apart quickly. Since you guys w/kids seem happy with similar ones, I'll assume I'm fine. (Like I said, I know I'm WAY over-thinking this but I seem to do that w/pretty much everything these days Wink

I have had a wooden square basket that I have used for used to store yarn. I cleaned it out and it is now the hamper in the babies room.

We are getting the brown one! Is it absolutely necessary? Probably not, but I can just toss clothes and whatnot in there and not have it and about and visible in the house. Plus, if it's spit up on or some other mess, then no one has to see the mess if I haven't washed it yet.

Never even occured to me to buy one. Is that odd?

We have two wicker hampers in between our room and the baby's room...one for lights one for darks...I just assumed we'd do the same with her stuff.

A little fancy, but it matches the baskets that we're using on his cube shelf and changing table. I love it!

Just be sure whatever you get is breathable. I found this DARLING vintage diaper pail that was metal and used it for a while when DS was a baby. He spit up a lot and apparently some clothes/burp clothes were damp and sat in there and got mold spots. Ick!

I have no other advice....it's just aesthetics otherwise!

i have a very similar one to the one you picked out. i got it off of freecycle. over the past two years, i haven't had any problems with it.

For now, we got a cheap basket to throw in the closet. Eventually, we'll probably get a nice wicker hamper to match the ones we already use, but it doesn't feel necessary from the beginning.

We have the same one as OP but in brown. It fits perfectly in her closet & I hung a lingere bag from the side of it for little things. I like that the hamper has a mesh bag inside it too so you can lift all the laundry out. We have a cloth hamper like that in our bathroom and I hate trying to dig stuff out of the bottom of it, even before I was pregnant!

I was going to get a cute hamper similar to the one OP posted, but in the end it seemed like everything was way too big. LO's clothes are so small I can barely make up a load. I just got this which fits perfectly in the floor space I have in his closet.

We have this hamper and basket set from Babies R Us. I love all the baskets it comes with. If I didn't already have the baskets, I might have just used this hamper from Target in the baby's room too. We bought 2 for our room last week and love them.
