Anyone else out there sick of working?

I said all along that I would work up until I went into labor, but I have a case of senioritis all over again from highschool. Its like graduation all over again, waiting for the day to arrive and in the process not really wanting to work or do anything productive, unless its baby related. Which may account for why I am on the bump at work!

Anyone else going through the same thing? How much longer do you all have?

Doc said that she would induce me on the 6th if I dont deliver before then because of my high BP's over the last week, but it seems like that day is soooo far away!

Re: Anyone else out there sick of working?

  • I really tried to go till the end this time around, but just couldn't do it. With DS#1 I worked till the day before I delivered and looking back, I was feeling really good. But this time, not so much. I ended up taking a week off before. I have a lot of sick time built up and also a lot of vacation, so I decided to use a week of sick time. I am so glad I did too.

  • I am very sick of working. I am supposed to be on light work load (says midwife) because I work on my feet lifting things and in a 90 degree+ greenhouse but since I am still here I am still expected to do my normal work.I'm happy to be staying busy and get some exercise but it gets really tiring.

I am out on the 13th, 2 weeks before my EDD. If I could work that extra 2 weeks and then get an extra 2 weeks at the end after the baby was born then I would suck it up but since I only get 6 weeks after the baby comes no matter what I am taking the extra 2 weeks.

  • I could have wrote this post myself!! I feel the exact same way. Hense why my boss is on lunch and so I am doing nothing productive. I am SO done with work I cannot wait to be gone. I can't concentrate on anything nor do I care to. I think I am due the exact same day as you too! It cannot come soon enough. If I have to come back on Tuesday after the long weekend I am going to scream!

I am in the same boat, I want to save that extra time off for when the baby is actually here. Wish I had more time banked up, but I burn it as fast as I earn it! :) I can take 12 weeks with FMLA, but only 5 of that is paid through STD, so I would have to have  to come up with some PTO to cover the rest, and right now I only have a week banked. :( Looks like Im stuck. Good luck to you guys!

Sounds perfect to me! lets hope this little gut thinks so too! I will send lots of Labor thoughts your way!

  • Well, I can't take it anymore. I was going to try and work until June 3rd, but I will be making today my last day. We have holiday on Monday, and then I used a vaca for Tues..I am going to take FMLA until the baby comes, or maybe my doc can just remove me from work due to my BP and I can start my STD early..I am just uncomfy and ready to prepare for baby.

Yep but I'm going to make it to my goal of working up to my due date.  My last day is Tuesday the 31st and my due date is Wed June 1st.  So really, I only have 1 and a half more days of work and they are split up with a 3 day weekend.  A few weeks ago I really didn't think I was going to make it.

  • Today is my last day and I am so sad! But I'm a nanny so I don't have the normal office type job. I've been Gracie's nanny since she was 2 1/2 months old and she'll be 2 in August! :( I would continue to be her nanny even after my baby is born but I start student teaching in August so it really wouldn't be possible! I am definitely going to miss my Little Miss!
