Has anyone found a sunscreen that has very little chemicals in it but still works well? Bonus if I don't have to sell my left leg to buy it.
DS has severe excema and we have to be really careful about what we use in our house and on his skin/clothes. He is non-dairy, and we use all free/clear/unscented everything, but have yet to find a sunscreen that doesn't break him out. We have tried Aveeno, Coppertone (free and pure or whatever), Up & Up sensitive, and Neutrogina Kids. Right now Neutrogina is the least rashy, but it's still not great to the point where I don't mind putting it on him daily. If California baby or something equally expensive is the best way to go, I certainly will do that but I wanted to see all of my options.
Thanks Ladies!
Re: Leslie (& other Excema or Crunchy Moms)
drugsstore dot com has blue lizzard chemical and something else free for sensitive skin.
That's one of the brands that the APA recommends.
I was going to order that one. I didn't use it. I did also pick up a copertone foam but I'm sure it has alcohol and other crap in it, so I will probably keep it for me.
You can search the EWG site here to check for chemicals/safety.
I have this but we haven't used it yet. Evan has eczema all over his belly and tiny patches on his legs. We'll find out next week if it irritates his skin or not cause we're going to FL

I just read an article the other day about sunscreens to avoid, and good ones to use:

Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

This is an easy to use, great list and it has the ratings from the EWG that Rachel mentioned too. Thanks!!

Blue lizzard sensitive is on sale for $17 once you add it to the cart and there is free shipping. I bought 2!
That's $8 cheaper than amazon.
Also the BL baby is more expensive but I read that you should just get the sensitive version. That the "baby" part is just for marketing.
